Nagorik Uddyog aims at uplifting the excluded and marginalized communities. Currently we are working among the Dalits and indigenous people to support their struggle for livelihood, promoting their livelihood and projecting cultural diversity

Dalit Issue
Bangladesh Dalits Human Rights (BDHR) has been working from 2001 with the support of Nagorik Uddyog along with other organization to ensure basic rights and improvement of overall living standard of Dalits who live in different urban setting and slums in 61 Districts of Bangladesh. Though Dalits have a significant role in the country’s economic, environment and social development, the Dalit community is one of the most economically marginalized and socially excluded groups in Bangladesh. Activities of BDHR are capacity building, awareness building on human rights and social justice, movement for permanent residence & employment, awareness on their education, primary health care, nutrition, sports and culture, campaign for rights of Dalits and networking with the human rights organizations. Nagorik Uddyog is assisting BDHR since its inception with technical and financial support and provision of office space for Secretariat.
